’No, you can’t put up a billboard for coming in second’

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Easter Sunday is usually a quiet day spent with friends and family unless you happen to be Darren Rovell.

The LSU gymnastics squad had just finished competing in the NCAA Championships and were named the runner-ups. The Tigers thanked the Baton Rouge community for a great season with billboards. LSU had their best second-best score ever in a final, but still came up a little short to Oklahoma.

Darren Rovell, quickly took to Twitter to show his disapproval of the billboard. Rovell currently works for Action Network sports business reporter and quote Tweeted the LSU gymnastics account.

"No, you can't put up a billboard for coming in second," says Rovell in his tweet.

The Baton Rouge community and LSU gymnastics fans wasted no time responding to Rovell.

"Maybe, just maybe, they put these up to appeal to their fans and to congratulate their athletes and not to garner broad social media support," says a tween from Andrew Mahtook."

While the gymnastics squad was celebrating Easter they took Twitter as well to respond to Rovell.

"I'm not even going to entergain you, Dan, Derek, David, Dicky, whatever your name is. Queens don't look down," says a tweet from Sarah Finnegan.
