Pineville Comes Through in Overtime Against West Monroe

In an overtime battle, the Pineville Rebels prevail over West Monroe, 64 to 59.

In the first half, the two teams traded scores, until West Monroe left the half by eight, 28-36.

"We had a talk because we knew this wasn't us," leading scorer Elazia Washington said. "We knew we needed to pick it up and play together," she added.

In the third quarter, the lady rebels came out refreshed. They pressed on defense, started making free throws and layups, and were able to make it a two-point game.

In the fourth, they trailed, however, Elazia Washington made a layup to force this game into overtime.

"They kept their composure," head coach Tiffany Edmondson said.

'Our defense picked, we made a small run and I think that was the difference in the game," she added.

The Pineville Rebels went on to improve their record to 18-3 in the season.
