PINEVILLE -- Following his, to-date, career best outing, Andrew Robinson has been named the American Southwest Conference Pitcher of the Week. He shares the honor this week with Matthew Williams of Concordia who threw a complete game shutout against No. 2 ranked Rowan.

The junior right-hander became the first Wildcat to throw a nine inning complete game shutout since Louisiana College joined the NCAA in 2000. He allowed just four hits in the game, striking out six, and faced just three batters more than the minimum in a 7-0 win against Belhaven. Robinson faced just three batters in six of the nine innings.

The win over Belhaven was the third win of the season for the Shreveport native and his third straight quality start for the Cats. He threw five strong innings in the Wildcats 15-4 win over Iowa Wesleyan giving up three hits and just one earned run. While the Wildcats were in Florida he tossed seven innings of four-hit ball giving up just one run in LC's 4-3 win over Penn State Abington. This season Robinson is 3-0 overall with a 1.69 ERA and an opponents batting average of .187.

The Wildcats have a huge series this weekend with nationally ranked Concordia beginning at 6pm on Friday night at Billy Allgood Field.
