ALEXANDRIA, La (KALB) - Alexandria Senior High takes on West Monroe Friday night in a battle that will determine if they're ready for “real competition.”

“As far as our job it’s just to prepare and then tomorrow night at 7:00 we’ll go play. So it’s just been business as usual,” head coach Thomas Bachman said.

On paper, the Trojans have a better record, higher ranking, and have played a tougher schedule, but with West Monroe’s program history, the odds are stacked up against them. Quarterback Judd Barton is coming in with a different mindset.

“They have players and we have players, but I believe when it comes down to toughness and grit, we are going to push farther and go get it,” Barton said.

In the past few games, the offense has continued to hold their own, however, their defense hasn’t had much of a challenge. With defensive back Ce’Onte Frazier coming back from an injury, he plans to bring back what the Trojans’ defense has been missing—swag.

“Having me back brings a lot of intensity and a lot of energy. We were locked in more than ever,” Frazier said.
