MARKSVILLE, La (KALB) - After missed layups, wide-open three attempts, and turnovers, the Indians fight back to win over Tensas in Marksville tournament.
Tioga came out to a slow start, giving Tensas a 10-0 run in the first quarter. Shermar Nash, who finished with 22 points shot a three tieing the game at 21 apiece, for the first time in the game.
"Early on, we played through nerves," Head Coach O'kie Benjamin said. "We have a few guys that are playing right now that are inexperienced in this type of setting."
The 21-point tie didn't last long. The Indians came out in the second half taking shots from the arc that put them up 20 points by the end of the third quarter.
"I just wanted us to get back to playing basketball," Benjamin said. "I thought we did a great job of rebounding in the second half."
Tioga will play in the next round, tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. at Avoyelles High School.
