TIOGA, La. (KALB) - You could say he saved the best for last if you're referring to the conclusion of the regular season. Last week, Tioga senior Tre Allen proved that the Indians have much more than just an electrifying pass game with his ball carrying out of the backfield against Grant earning him our Week 10 Athlete of the Week.
"It just means a lot, you know,” said Allen. “I want to thank my teammates, my coaches, my family and the first person - God, you know. It's a blessing to be on this team with all these great people."
Allen started off the scoring for the Indians last Friday with a powerful 44-yard touchdown run and would continue to rush all over the Cougars going for 247 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. Tioga would win on senior night 45-8 to finish 9-1 on the year and earn themselves the No. 4 seed to host a first round 4A playoff game.
"I thought Friday night he ran well and I felt like he ran a little harder than he has been in the past,” explained Tioga head coach Kevin Cook. “That's what you want. You want him to get better through the season and he has."
"I just kept my head down and kept going," added Allen.
The Indians will take on No. 29 seed Washington-Marion here at The Reservation Friday night as they try to keep their magical season going with a deep playoff run.
