WACO, Texas – Chris Vickers of LSU Alexandria (La.) was selected as the RRAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his play over the dates of Feb. 24-March 1.
Vickers averaged 25.0 points and 17.5 rebounds per game as LSUA won its last two conference games and claimed the RRAC regular season title.
The senior forward notched 31 points and 20 boards in a 100-92 victory over Paul Quinn College (Texas) on Thursday, and he picked up another double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds in a win over University of the Southwest (N.M.), 87-77.
For the week, the native of Slidell, La., was 17-of-32 from field goal range including 8-of-16 on three-pointers. Vickers closed out his senior season second in the RRAC in rebounding (9.8 per game), and eighth in scoring (17.0 points per game).
Ranked 11th nationally, LSUA enters the RRAC Men's Basketball Tournament with a 17-1 conference mark and overall record of 25-5.
