FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Family fitness dates are replacing the old school pizza and movie nights as more parents are realizing that the benefits of moving aren't just about burning calories but setting an example for the next generation.
We talked to three experts to get a feel for what family fitness looks like in their homes.
Brooke Burke-Charvet likes to take spinning class with her kids or run at a college track. Hilaria Baldwin is all about squeezing in what she calls down moment workouts, fitting in 10 minutes here and there for abs, squats or yoga moves while her kids are playing. And Miami Fit Mama creator Erika Boom brings her son to Cross Fit with her. He loves cheering her on and also trying some moves after class.
