Two days into jury selection for his second-degree murder trial, Terrance Lavalais, 22, of Alexandria, pleaded “guilty as charged” and was sentenced to life in prison without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
At Alexandria Senior High School, students celebrated the day by reciting poems, singing songs, and playing instruments in the school’s library, decorated as a darkly lit coffee shop during an event called ‘Books, Blues, and Brews’.
A Pineville man has been sentenced to seven years in prison and must register as a sex offender for life for a March 9, 2023, jury conviction of third-degree rape.
