BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB/Gray News) - A Louisiana toddler is recovering in the hospital after allegedly ingesting THC gummies.

Officers arrested Rosizena Moore, 34, of Morgan City, on Wednesday on several charges related to the child’s suspected overdose, including cruelty to juveniles, Morgan City Police said.

Investigators said they believe the toddler ate some of the gummies around 2 a.m. Tuesday at a residence.

Police said Moore went to bed earlier in the night and was alerted when the 2-year-old had a medical episode in the early morning hours.

The toddler is believed to have gotten out of bed to find the THC gummies within reach and may have eaten some of them.

Moore allegedly did not call for help for up to two hours. Police said they believe she was attempting to hide evidence during that time.

Emergency officials took the toddler to a medical facility, where the child is currently stable, according to officials.

Police said when they searched the home they found suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and additional THC products.

Moore was booked into the Morgan City Jail on the following charges: second-degree cruelty to juveniles, failure to seek assistance, obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of juveniles, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substances law - drug free zone and fugitive.

Moore was also wanted by the Thibodaux Police Department for traffic offenses, officials added.
