Two-A-Days: Rosepine Eagles

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The Rosepine Eagles finished with a record of 3-7 last season but under new head coach Frank Rosegrant they hope to turn things around by fostering a new culture.

“We have a brand new staff, I have an incredible staff here we’re trying to implement a new culture that focuses on accountability showing up for every workout focusing on the details the small things we want to be great tacklers, great blockers doing the fundamentals, controlling the things we can control conditioning, effort those kind of things we’re trying to establish that as our core,” Rosepine Head Coach Frank Rosegrant said.

Senior Gabe McKee has made the change over to quarterback this season and is expected to be one of the leaders that this young and inexperienced team can depend on.

“I’m here to lead the team to hopefully some wins and we go here and practice hard every day I’m hoping to teach all my guys around me especially the freshman that hard work pays off and as a team. I’m hoping to come out here and practice every day hard have a good recovery and come out here and play another day,” Rosepine quarterback Gabe McKee said.

Selfless players who are willing to do the little things is how this Rosepine squad believes they’ll find success.

“I just want to do whatever is best for us. Be good on offense be good on defense help us anyway I can and as a team, we need to be able to compete in every game we should be able to do and just do what we’re coached to do,” Rosepine wide receiver and defensive back Rowan Embry said.

The Eagles start their season on the road against Westlake on Sept. 5th.
