Week Ahead in Washington: February 22

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - President Donald Trump is set to deliver the first State of the Union address of his second term Tuesday night before a joint session of Congress.
The speech will be Trump’s second address to Congress since retaking office. He previously addressed a joint session last March. Trump is expected to focus on border policy and other achievements from his administration. Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger is set to deliver the Democratic response to Trump’s remarks.
The address comes after the Supreme Court dealt a blow to one of Trump’s signature policies. The justices ruled last Friday that Trump illegally used the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose widespread tariffs.
Trump announced Saturday he is imposing a 15% tax on all imports — the maximum legally allowed under an alternate legal route. That law allows the tariffs to last 150 days without further congressional approval.
Also this week, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are set to meet with members of the House Oversight Committee for closed-door depositions on the Epstein files. Hillary Clinton is scheduled to meet with committee members Thursday. Bill Clinton will meet with them Friday.
