Chief Cody Cloessner and his team took to the streets of Glenmora on Saturday, June 13, with the goal of beautifying the town and celebrating America’s upcoming 250th birthday.

Sunday also marked the 77th Flag Day.

Dozens of flags now line both sides of the highway from both ends of the town.

“It’s just something to make our town look better...just something to make the town kind of brighten up and show our patriotism,” Cloessner said. “This is where I was born and raised at, and hopefully, long, long down the road, I’ll die here. When people pass through, we got U.S. 165 through here. When people pass through, we want our town to look nice. We may be small, but it’s home, and it’s got good people that live here.”

Glenmora Mayor Brian Goree signed off on the project, saying the flags would make the town look great and be a way to celebrate America’s special day.
