VIDEO: Fire destroys Dollar Tree near Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The cause of a fire at a Dollar Tree in East Baton Rouge Parish is under investigation. Photos of the fire showed extensive damage inside the store.

In a post on Facebook, the Central Fire Department announced firefighters responded to a commercial fire on the corner of N. Sherwood Forest Drive and Greenwell Springs Road on Sunday, March 24.

Crews said an operational sprinkler system controlled the fire enough to allow firefighters to enter and attack the fire.

No injuries were reported. There is no word on when the store will reopen.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department and the District Six Fire Department also responded to the scene.
