Governor Jeff Landry to visit U.S. southern border

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry is expected to visit the U.S. southern border on Thursday, May 9 to meet with the Louisiana National Guard.

Landry will receive an overview on Operation Lone Star and meet with soldiers.

In April, the state of Louisiana sent 50 soldiers to help the Texas National Guard with patrolling the border to stop illegal crossings.

After the visit, Landry will provide an update on the outcome of the trip.
