Walker man sentenced to 30 years in prison, chemical castration for rape of 3 juveniles

LIVINGSTON PARISH (WAFB) - A Walker man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the rape of three juveniles.
The Office of District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports a man identified as Blake “Sparky” Lott was convicted on three counts of second-degree rape in connection with a 2021 investigation.
Officials confirmed the case stems from April 2021, when a juvenile disclosed that she had been sexually assaulted. A Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office investigation soon revealed two additional juvenile victims. LPSO Detective Justin DePhillips obtained DNA evidence to support the victims’ statements, outlining the sexual abuse.
Additionally, Lott was sentenced to chemical castration and will be required to register as a sex offender for life. Current law does not allow for diminution of sentence for sex offenders, and Lott is expected to serve the full 30-year prison sentence, Perrilloux said.
Perrilloux commended the juvenile victims who “had the courage to speak out against an adult, knowing the adversity it would bring.”
Assistant District Attorney Brett Sommer prosecuted the case for the state.
“Lott surely deserves more than 30 years for his unspeakable acts,” Sommer said.
Sommer said that by taking the plea, the agreement “sends Lott away for a significant amount of time and spares these juvenile victims and their families from the trauma of a trial.”
Judge Erika Sledge sentenced Lott to 30 years imprisonment at hard labor, without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
