40 championship rings stolen from LSU, police say

Police said a display case containing approximately 40 athletics rings was stolen from the office of former gymnastics coach Sarah “D-D” Breaux.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Louisiana State University Police Department is investigating the theft of dozens of gymnastics championship rings reportedly taken from the LSU Athletic Administration Building.

Police said a display case containing approximately 40 athletics rings was stolen from the office of former gymnastics coach Sarah “D-D” Breaux.

According to the incident report, Breaux last saw the case with the rings inside on the evening of Nov. 7, but she noticed it was missing on the morning of Nov. 14.

Police responded to the Athletic Administration Building on Friday morning, Nov. 15.

The rings are estimated to be worth over $3,000, according to the incident report.

Breaux led the LSU gymnastics program for 43 years. She retired from coaching in 2020 but remains active at LSU.
