Congressman Cleo Fields to hold town hall meetings throughout district
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Congressman Cleo Fields is kicking off his return to Congress by holding a series of town hall meetings where community members can share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas with him.
The town hall meeting series starts on Monday, Feb. 17, in Baton Rouge, and will continue throughout the week in other cities across Louisiana’s Sixth Congressional District.

“Hearing from the people I represent is essential to serving them effectively and this town hall series is a chance to have honest conversations about the challenges and opportunities ahead,” said Congressman Fields. “I encourage everyone to attend a town hall meeting in their community. Whether your concern is big or small, your voice matters, and I am here to listen.”
According to his office, during these meetings, Fields will provide updates on his work in Congress, discuss legislative priorities, and address the many concerns residents have regarding the recent decisions of the Trump Administration.
Town Hall Meeting Series
- Baton Rouge: The meeting is happening on Monday, Feb. 17. It begins at 6:30 p.m. at the McKinley High School Alumni Center, which is located at 1520 Thomas H. Delpit Drive in Baton Rouge.
- Lafayette: The meeting is happening on Tuesday, Feb. 18. It begins at 6 p.m. at the Clifton Chenier Center, which is located at 220 W. Willow St., Building A in Lafayette.
- Alexandria: The meeting is happening on Wednesday, Feb. 19. It begins at 6 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, which is located at 11 16th St. in Alexandria.
- Shreveport: The meeting is happening on Thursday, Feb. 20. It begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Southern University Metro Nursing Center, which is located at 610 Texas St. in Shreveport.
Anyone unable to attend can watch the meetings online on Congressman Fields’s Instagram live.
Fields was sworn into his latest term representing the state’s Sixth Congressional District on Monday morning, Feb. 17, at the F.G. Clark Activity Center on Southern University’s campus. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November of 2024. He previously represented the state in Congress in the 90s and most recently served as a State Senator.
