Fraternity expels 3 men accused of Southern University student’s hazing death
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Three men linked to a Southern University student’s hazing death joined an exclusive list of members expelled from the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
The fraternity’s website now shows Caleb McCray and Kyle Thurman are expelled from the fraternity’s Beta Sigma Chapter. It shows Isaiah Smith, the “Dean of Pledges,” is expelled from the fraternity’s Lambda Alpha Chapter.
According to the list, only 203 members have been expelled from Omega Psi Phi Fraternity since 1911.
Six weeks ago, the Baton Rouge Police Department arrested all three men after Caleb Wilson, 20, died on Feb. 27 during a fraternity ritual, and they allegedly lied about what happened.
