Blue Bayou Waterpark set to reopen in May
Management announces upgrades, new pricing model for tickets
ST. George, La. (WAFB) - Tickets are now on sale for Blue Bayou Waterpark’s first season under new management.
According to the company, the season kicks off on Saturday, May 16, and continues through Labor Day weekend. Tickets for the 2026 summer season went on sale Thursday morning, March 26.
Blue Bayou reopens with a new pricing model that the company says rewards guests who purchase single-day tickets early online, similar to booking a hotel stay or a flight.
According to the company, prices currently start at $29.99 for day tickets. Season passes are also available.
“We are excited to welcome guests back for an incredible season at Blue Bayou,” said Mark Moore, General Manager of Blue Bayou. “Our team has been working hard all offseason to enhance the waterpark and create an experience families will truly enjoy. There’s a lot of energy and excitement as we get ready to open the gates on Saturday, May 16.”
The water park has not been open to the public since the 2024 season.
In June 2025, “Leisure Sports” announced that it would be taking over operations at Blue Bayou under its Soak’n Fun® brand, which also includes the Gulf Islands Waterpark in Gulfport, Miss.
According to the company, “Blue Bayou is placing a strong emphasis on creating a clean, safe, and family-focused environment where guests of all ages can relax, play, and make lasting memories together.”
Management says crews are working behind the scenes to prepare the waterpark for the opening. This includes ride maintenance, repairs, and fresh landscaping.
They are also bringing new smart lockers to the water park and installing internet, according to the company.
Management says the waterpark will offer free unlimited fountain drinks for all guests, free parking for season pass holders, and free inner tubes and life jackets for all guests.

The waterpark is located on Perkins Road East near I-10 in East Baton Rouge Parish.
