The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted yesterday afternoon by KALB with a request for a photograph of Cassetti Brown in relation to his recent 30th JDC conviction.

VPSO personnel provided a photograph to Lydia Magallanes at that time.

VPSO later learned that the photograph provided was incorrect.

The VPSO employee who provided the photograph was not familiar with Mr. Brown and had no knowledge that there was more than one individual with the name Cassetti Brown.

Upon receiving notification regarding the photograph Lydia Magallanes immediately contacted VPSO and the correct photograph was provided at that time.

KALB and a Lydia Magallanes have always reported Vernon Parish news with the utmost integrity. VPSO takes full responsibility for the error and neither KALB or Ms Magallanes was responsible for the mistake. This error was unintentional but no less an error on our part.

We would like to publicly apologize to Mr Cassetti Brown II, the Brown Family, as well as their friends and acquaintances. We are extremely sorry for our mistake and we will do everything in our power to ensure that this does not happen again.

We would also like to apologize to KALB and Lydia Magallanes who through no fault of their own have received some very undeserved comments on social media.

We apologize to our citizens and will endeavor to provide accurate and appropriate information in the future.

VPSO will be implementing new policies regarding the verification of identity prior to the release of any photographs.

We are including the appropriate photograph related to this matter.

Thank you for your consideration.
