Pollock police chief arrested, accused of directing officers to work outside of jurisdiction
GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB) - Pollock Police Chief Chris Paul has been arrested after being accused of allegedly directing his officers to perform duties outside of his department’s jurisdiction.

Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) shared that Paul was taken into custody on April 13 and charged with:
- Three counts of principal to filing or maintaining false public records
- Three counts of malfeasance in Office
LBI received a request for assistance from the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding allegations of official misconduct involving Pollock PD.
LBI said they learned that between January 1, 2022, and September 11, 2025, Paul had officers patrol, issue citations and make arrests on and around the grounds of the Federal Correctional Complex – Pollock.

They said the chief knew the FCC-Pollock complex and the immediate area leading to the facility were not inside the city limits of Pollock, and that he was also aware that he did not have legal authority to conduct routine law enforcement activities outside of his jurisdiction.
As a result, LBI said Pollock officers made multiple arrests, issued multiple citations and created investigative reports that falsely represented that these actions had occurred within the police department’s jurisdiction.
“No one is above the law — especially those sworn to uphold it."
Grant Parish Sheriff Steven McCain shared that Paul met with LBI’s investigator and turned himself in.
Paul was booked without incident at GPSO and was released on recognizance.
The investigation remains ongoing, and KALB will continue to dig deeper into the investigation as it progresses.
