Trial date set for Avoyelles Parish mother accused of SNAP fraud

AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (KALB) - A trial date has been locked in for an Avoyelles Parish mother accused of defrauding the SNAP program.

Affidavit records KALB obtained show Maria Marquez is accused of defrauding over $23,000 in SNAP benefits by lying about her job earnings and the money she was receiving through child support.

Her trial is slated to begin on May 11.
