COLFAX, La. (KALB) - The Cenla community is invited to come together to honor the victims of last Sunday’s mass shooting in Shreveport.

The Domestic Abuse Resistance Team (DART) in Grant Parish is hosting a candlelight vigil and community gathering aimed at promoting unity and support during a difficult time.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, at 7 p.m. near the bandstand on Front Street in Colfax.

Organizers said the focus of the evening is a candlelight ceremony centered on healing and community unity. Candles will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to wear purple in support of domestic violence awareness.
